I grew up in a church family, attending services whenever the church doors were open. However, as I matured, I chose a rebellious path and distanced myself from my upbringing.
​
In 1999, the birth of my first grandchild and subsequent health issues prompted me to reflect deeply on my life. I realized I had spent years pursuing the wrong things, which led me to repentance. At that time, I confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
​
Following my spiritual awakening, I began attending a church near my home. Over time, I noticed discrepancies between the church’s teachings and the Bible. My wife and I prayed for guidance and sought a church where we could learn the truth and grow spiritually. We felt led to the Good News Free Will Baptist Church, where, under Pastor Johnson’s teaching, we experienced significant growth and understanding of the Word of God.
​
I am presently attending Heritage Baptist Church on Cogbill Road in Chesterfield County, Virginia. I currently lead a Zoom Bible Study Fellowship group, and our group participates in outreach ministry every Friday by distributing gospel tracts and sharing our faith in local communities. We also have an outreach once a month to the patients in the Belgrade Senior Living Center.

My wife, Sharon, and I have been married since 1968. We just celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary this past June. We have been blessed with two adult children and three grandchildren, all of whom are now grown.
​
I am deeply thankful that the Lord led us to Good News Free Will Baptist Church during the years when Brother Glenn was serving as pastor. I am grateful for the leadership, guidance, and encouragement he provided throughout the years. It has been a blessing to learn under his ministry and to grow in my walk with the Lord through his faithful service.
​
I am also thankful for the opportunity to serve on the board of Pastor Glen’s new ministry. I am excited about the future and eagerly looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do through the Kingdom Legacy Ministry as the LORD continues to advance His work and impact lives for His glory through Brother Glen, Lori, and this ministry.
Ken Smith
William Ron Franks
I was born on February 23, 1952, in Winfield, Alabama, and attended Marion County public schools, graduating from Marion County High in 1970. After four years, I graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduation, I joined Reynolds Metals Company (later acquired by Alcoa, Inc.) and spent 40 years in the aluminum industry in various engineering and planning functions.

After graduating from college, I married the love of my life, Jane Brasseal, my partner for life.
​
I was saved as a 10-year-old boy, but I really did not get serious about my relationship with the Lord until God got the attention of Jane and me early in our married life. Since that time, I (we) have been faithful servants in Free Will Baptist churches in Hot Springs, AR; Muscle Shoals, AL; Chesterfield, VA; Cranberry, PA; Knoxville, TN; and currently Northport, AL.
​
From 1983 to 2000, I was a member of Good News Free Will Baptist. The first Sunday we attended, there were nineteen people attending, and four were my family. Over the years, I served as a deacon, teacher, and youth leader. It was during this time that I grew spiritually and grew to love and respect Glen Johnson. His preaching and commitment to the Lord led me to spiritual maturity. Out of a grateful heart, I am excited to be a part of Kingdom Legacy Ministries.
D. Bruce Barnes
I was born in 1953 and raised in Smithfield, North Carolina, where I met Debbie in high school. After becoming high school sweethearts, we were married in 1972. The following year, in June 1973, we both gave our lives to the Lord while living in Smithfield. Shortly after our conversion, the Lord began directing our lives toward Christian ministry, and I answered His call to preach in 1974.
​
We moved from Smithfield, NC, to Greenville, SC, to attend Bob Jones University for my undergraduate work (1975-1979). After one year of graduate studies, we took our first pastorate in 1980. Ten years later, we returned to the university where I received a teaching fellowship in the Greek department while completing my M.A. and Ph.D.
Afterward, we continued in the pastorate until serving in two different college ministries: Southeastern Free Will Baptist College and Gateway Christian College. I taught as a professor in English, Greek, theology, pastoral theology, homiletics, and church administration. Along with this, I served in various capacities, including Bible Department Chairman, Dean of Students, Vice President: Academic Affairs, and College President. For thirteen years, I was privileged to serve as the promotional director for the Virginia State Association of Free Will Baptists.
​
Now, in retirement, I continue to pursue my calling through writing, weekly Bible studies and services in our retirement community, online teaching, music, and evangelistic ministry.
​
I am privileged to serve on the KLM board because of my deep respect for Rev. Glen Johnson and his wife, Lorri, and their faithful ministry. I wholeheartedly support their vision and am honored to encourage and assist the work God has called them to do.
