Doug Johnson, VP
Doug Johnson was born in Holden, West Virginia. His family later moved to LaPorte, Indiana, where he spent much of his childhood and formative years.
​
Doug grew up in a Christian home and made a profession of faith as a child. However, it was in the fall of 1975, after being challenged by his brother, Rev. Glen Johnson, that he fully committed his life to following Christ. Since that time, his desire has been to faithfully serve the Lord and point others to Jesus.
​
Doug married his wife, Kimberly, in 1982. They have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren. Throughout his career, Doug worked for many years as a sales representative with CarMax, where he built lasting relationships through integrity and servant leadership.
​
Doug and Kimberly are active members of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. Doug teaches an adult Sunday School class, while Kimberly faithfully serves as the church pianist. Together, they have dedicated their lives to serving Christ and investing in the lives of others through their local church.
​
Doug's personal mission is simple: to glorify God by clearly pointing others to Jesus. He is honored to serve on the Board of Kingdom Legacy Ministries and is grateful for the opportunity to support a ministry committed to strengthening believers, encouraging churches, and proclaiming the truth of God's Word.
Paul Trout
​​Paul Trout was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and was raised in a Christian home. Although he grew up attending church faithfully, he later chose a path away from the Lord. Following the birth of his first grandchild and a series of health challenges, God used those circumstances to bring him to repentance, and he trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
​
Paul and his wife, Sharon, were married in 1968 and later moved to Chesterfield, Virginia. Before retiring, Paul worked as a retail business supervisor and later owned and operated a successful business. Together they have two children and three grandchildren.
​
After his salvation, Paul and Sharon sought a church committed to faithfully teaching God's Word. The Lord led them to Good News Free Will Baptist Church, where they spent 15 years under the ministry of Rev. Glen Johnson. During that time, Paul served as a teacher, children's ministry leader, and member of the church leadership committee while growing significantly in his understanding of Scripture.
​
Today, Paul and Sharon attend Heritage Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia. Paul leads a Bible study and fellowship group that actively shares the gospel through weekly community outreach and monthly ministry to residents of a local senior living community.
​
Paul is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Kingdom Legacy Ministries and is excited to support its mission of strengthening believers, encouraging churches, and advancing the gospel for the glory of God.
Ken Smith
Ken Smith was born in Richmond, Virginia, and was raised in Williamsburg. Before retiring, he enjoyed a successful career as a retail business manager.
​
Ken accepted Christ as his Savior in April 1984 at Good News Free Will Baptist Church when the congregation was meeting in the Chesterfield Ruritan Hall. He was actively involved in the early days of the church, helping purchase property and establish the church on Courthouse Road. Over the years, he faithfully served as a trustee, Sunday School superintendent, and member of the leadership committee.
​
Ken married his wife, Sheila, in 1980. They have six children, seventeen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Two of their daughters and sons-in-law serve in full-time Christian ministry, as do three of their grandchildren.
Ken and Sheila are members of Faith Baptist Church in Mathews, Virginia, where Ken serves on both the finance and grounds committees.

Having experienced firsthand the spiritual impact of Rev. Glen Johnson's ministry, Ken is honored to serve on the Board of Kingdom Legacy Ministries and desires to see that ministry continue strengthening churches and believers for years to come.
William Ron Franks
Ron Franks was born in Winfield, Alabama. He earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Alabama before beginning a 40-year career with Reynolds Metals Company, later Alcoa, Inc., serving in a variety of engineering and planning leadership roles.
​
Following college, Ron married his lifelong partner, Jane Brasseal. Although he trusted Christ as a young boy, it was during the early years of their marriage that he and Jane became fully committed to serving the Lord together.
Throughout the years, Ron has faithfully served in Free Will Baptist churches in Arkansas, Alabama, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and now Northport, Alabama.
​
Ron was a member of Good News Free Will Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia for seventeen years. He joined the church during its earliest days and faithfully served as a deacon, teacher, and youth leader. Under the ministry of Rev. Glen Johnson, Ron experienced significant spiritual growth and developed a deep appreciation for biblical preaching and faithful pastoral leadership.
​
Ron is thankful to serve on the Board of Kingdom Legacy Ministries and is committed to helping advance its mission of encouraging churches and proclaiming the truth of God's Word.
D. Bruce Barnes
Dr. D. Bruce Barnes was born and raised in Smithfield, North Carolina. He and his wife, Debbie, were high school sweethearts and married in 1972. The following year, they both trusted Christ as Savior, and in 1974 Dr. Barnes answered God's call to preach.
​
He earned his undergraduate degree from Bob Jones University before completing graduate studies, including both a Master of Arts and Ph.D. While pursuing his advanced degrees, he served as a teaching fellow in the university's Greek department.
​
For more than four decades, Dr. Barnes has faithfully served the Lord in pastoral ministry, Christian higher education, and denominational leadership. His ministry has included serving as a pastor, professor, Bible Department Chairman, Dean of Students, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and College President at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College and Gateway Christian College. He also served for thirteen years as Promotional Director for the Virginia State Association of Free Will Baptists.
​
Now in retirement, Dr. Barnes continues to write, teach online, lead weekly Bible studies and worship services in his retirement community, and minister through evangelism and music.
​
Dr. Barnes is honored to serve on the Board of Kingdom Legacy Ministries because of his deep respect for Rev. Glen and Lorri Johnson and his wholehearted belief in the ministry's mission to strengthen churches and encourage believers through the faithful teaching of God's Word.
